Bar & restaurant retrofit

Whittaker Parsons at Leadenhall Market

We are delighted to be working on a restaurant and bar retrofit project in the wonderful Leadenhall Market, in the London Borough of the City of London.

Situated within a designated conservation area, Leadenhall Market is one of London’s most cherished architectural landmarks. The market’s origins date back to the 14th century, when it served as a bustling centre for meat, poultry, and game trading. The current structure, designed by Sir Horace Jones—the architect also behind Tower Bridge and Smithfield Market—was completed in 1881 and remains a striking example of Victorian architecture, made world famous in various blockbuster hits.

This project represents a continuation of our practice’s interest thoughtful design interventions within heritage contexts — we look forward to sharing more as the project evolves.
