Primary Duties:

Researching and developing solutions to architectural problems.

Preparing and/ or commissioning measured surveys and site reports.

Communicate with clients, consultants, contractor’s organisation, suppliers, etc to move the project forward.

Preparing presentation materials by CAD and by hand for internal and external purposes, including attending client and user presentations and incorporating feedback

Drafting and amending concept and detail designs by CAD and by hand.

In-house model-making mainly involves study models but possibly presentation models.

In-house 3D imaging.

Drafting and amending technical designs and production information by CAD and by hand.

Preparation of technical specifications using NBS software.

Establishing and integrating technical information and statutory requirements into design and production drawings, including preparation of drawings for planning and building control approval, tender and construction purposes.

Reviewing consultants’ information and coordinating with architectural details at all RIBA project stages.

Knowledge of JCT traditional contract documentation, including assisting in drafting architects’ instructions and certificates.

Attend relevant internal and external meetings, follow up on action points, and contribute to agenda items where appropriate.

Attend site meetings and inspections and follow up with meeting notes and instructions.

Attend internal project planning and office management meetings and contribute to project and office management where appropriate.

 

Other Duties:

Maintaining office and project files and preparing drawing issues. Maintaining project QA records.

Assisting in the development and implementation of office systems.

Researching project briefs, materials and construction products and systems, including using the office library and electronic information retrieval systems.

Undertaking post-completion assessment and de-briefing for clients and building users.

Attending in-house and external CPD activities.

Work shadowing and observation of activities within the practice to broaden the postholder’s professional experience.

 

Advantageous knowledge but not essential:

Knowledge of Passivhaus standards and PHPP

 

Salary:

Based on experience, in line with RIBA guidelines, including workplace pension scheme as standard.
