Purchased during COVID when the city was quieter, the open-plan home later proved too noisy. The family sought to solve this along adding more space, to provide a new family room doubling as a guest bedroom, new kitchen diner and bathrooms and home office.

Transformation of a four-storey townhouse in North London, using Douglas Fir glazed screens and exposed structure to create a peaceful, practical, relaxed family home.
Our favourite aspect of our home is the new light-filled kitchen and dining area, with all the beautiful exposed wood. We love the green roof—when we’re in the sitting room it makes us feel like we’re looking out onto a little meadow.

Bespoke internal glazed screens were installed in the loft and entrance levels to enhance privacy, improve acoustics, and increase overall comfort. The lower ground floor was fully remodelled and extended, creating improved access to the garden while introducing a greater sense of openness.
