The single storey brick side extension to a Victorian terraced house was set back from the rear elevation and designed to exploit the full width of the terrace. A clear sequence of spaces has been created from the existing dining room to the kitchen and garden. Sensitive material selection, detailing and subdivision of spaces created highly functional but comfortable contemporary living spaces.
'Whittaker Parsons designed an extension to our home. This included remodelling the ground floor, a new kitchen and bathroom, and hard landscaping in the garden. They have also overseen the tendering process and project managed the first phase of the work.
Their design exceeded our expectations - as well as a great understanding of how spaces work and an ability to solve problems they also introduced materials and fittings that have made a real difference to the final design.
Throughout the build, Whittaker Parsons kept a focus on high quality finish as well as budget control - managing the balance between these to make sure that the end product matched the initial specification.
Overall, we have been extremely impressed with all areas of their work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.'
